A List of Everything Making Me Happy
Updated: Apr 2
Through many of my recent posts, I sure have been ~in my feels~, but today I am oozing positivity despite rainy Monday vibes. I am ready to take on the week and am filled with excitement over a variety of things!
In fact, I thought I would share some of my happy with you. Here is a list of ALL of the things I am super excited about today:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer is coming back. As an active part of the Buffy fandom, I realize there are many mixed feelings about this news. Reboots/remakes/revitalizations of shows or films never particularly bother me, for I personally feel that they do not take away from a well-established original. Buffy the Vampire Slayer is so dear to me AS MY FAVORITE SHOW OF ALL TIME, and has been out for over 20 years. In today's world, we need - kids need - a slayer they can relate to. I think it's time.
Into every generation, a slayer is born: one girl in all the world, a chosen one.
And she is going to be a woman of color. Okay, now I am tearing up, so moving onto the next thing...
2. This adorable to-do list created by Jess Bradley. I am very much a to-do list person, and am pumped to shake things up this week with a little Sasquatch cheering me on. Now you all can use it too!
3. Funko Pop is coming out with Hocus Pocus Pops for Halloween! These new Pops will be located exclusively at Spirit Halloween stores. I have a rule for myself that I am NOT allowed to buy any Pops (they have to be gifted to me only) because I know that I will go overboard and eventually need a whole entire room to house them all. But would that be such a bad thing, really?
Anyway, I may have to make an exception for these beauties.
4. I received a Chia Pet Zombie head as a birthday gift. First of all, I didn't know that Chia Zombies existed (there are actually three different types) and secondly, I was very touched my coworkers knew I would love such an item. I adore plants and have a terrible green thumb, but since there is an undead theme anyway, maybe rotting plant leaves won't stand out too much?
5. Finally: Actual footage of Carrie Fisher is going to be in Star Wars Episode IX. According to starwars.com:
"The role of Leia Organa will once again be played by Carrie Fisher, using previously unreleased footage shot for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. “We desperately loved Carrie Fisher,” says Abrams. “Finding a truly satisfying conclusion to the Skywalker saga without her eluded us. We were never going to recast, or use a CG character. With the support and blessing from her daughter, Billie, we have found a way to honor Carrie’s legacy and role as Leia in Episode IX by using unseen footage we shot together in Episode VII.”
Okay, now I am getting teary all over again! BUT STILL HAPPY!
I hope you enjoyed this little round-up and go about your days with a smile. Comment below about what makes you happy, or create your own list! I love to see what makes others excited.
